The historic center
Among the streets of Montelupo, ceramics transform Centi Square into an urban space dedicated to creativity.
On the occasion of the CèRAMICA 2023 event, the Montelupo Museum Foundation Onlus promoted a CALL aimed at ceramic producers based in the Montelupo Fiorentino area and/or members of the Montelupo Fiorentino Ceramic Road Association, for the design and creation of decorated tile compositions for the stair risers in Centi Square.
Gelasio Centi Square is a small pedestrian-only square, located in the historic center of Montelupo Fiorentino, positioned north of the Pesa river. At the center, there is already a permanent installation created by Loris Cecchini in 2016.
The staircase is part of a broader ceramic characterization of urban spaces with interventions in traditional and contemporary ceramics.
