A place where the stars seem closer
The construction is located near the top of the hill, respecting the cemetery boundary, and is accessible via a road branching off from Via S. Vito, which passes through the woods to reach the area of interest. The entire structure is hidden by the surrounding trees.
The building consists of two interconnected parts: The first features the observation tower with a cylindrical structure, housing the “data processing” room on the ground floor, while the upper floor hosts the telescope and the opening dome. At this level, there is also a terrace for direct observations with small portable instruments. The second part is a quadrangular structure used as a classroom for astronomy and educational purposes, and it will also house the “planetarium” dome.
