Beppe Forti Astronomical Observatory

Discover the area

A place where the stars are so close you can almost touch them

The building is located near the top of the hill and it’s accessible via a road that branches off from Via S. Vito and passes through the woods. The entire structure is hidden by the surrounding trees.

The observatory consists of two interconnected parts. In the first building you will find the observation tower, which houses the “data processing” room on the ground floor of its cylindrical structure, and the dome, whose roof can be opened to look at the sky with the telescope. On the same floor, there is also a terrace where everyone can look directly at the sky with their own small portable equipment. The second building is a quadrangular structure that functions as a classroom for astronomy lectures and other educational purposes; it will also house the “planetarium” dome.
