The Bitossi Museum Archive

Contemporary Ceramic Art

The Bitossi Museum Archive is located in the historic factory founded by Guido Bitossi in 1921 in Montelupo Fiorentino.
The exhibition is housed within the factory on an area spanning 2000 square meters, where part of the production was located until just a few years ago.

The ceramics, arranged in chronological and typological order on five hundred linear meters of fir shelves, are the tangible storytellers of over a century of history of Bitossi, from the early 1900s until today.

Guided tours explore the origins of the Bitossi family and the secrets of the region through a historical-artistic narrative, focusing more specifically on the evolution of the product from tradition to modernity, thanks to the work of Aldo Londi and important collaborations with several designers, including architect Ettore Sottsass.

The Archive is open to the public by appointment from Monday to Friday.
