Centi Square
The historic center

In the streets of Montelupo, ceramics transform Centi Square into an urban space dedicated to creativity.
In conjunction with CÈRAMICA 2023, an important event dedicated to the art of ceramics and hosted by Montelupo, the Montelupo Museum Foundation Onlus made an announcement that they were looking for local producers of ceramics and/or members of the Montelupo Fiorentino Road of Ceramic Association to design and create decorated tile compositions for the rise of the steps in Centi square.
Gelasio Centi Square is a small pedestrian-only square, located in the historic center of Montelupo Fiorentino, north of the river Pesa. In the center, there is a permanent installation by Loris Cecchini from 2016.
The staircase is part of a broader project of ceramic-inspired characterization of urban spaces in Montelupo, through the public display of artworks in traditional and contemporary ceramics.
