Ceramic Experience for Families – Visit and Workshop in Montelupo Fiorentino

An activity designed for adults and children to discover the ceramic tradition of Montelupo Fiorentino. Every Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, families can enjoy a unique experience that combines culture, craftsmanship, and taste, with a final snack included.

The experience begins with a guided tour of the Museum of Ceramics, which houses a precious collection of majolica dating from the 1200s to the 1700s. The museum tells the story of Montelupo’s central role as the “Factory of Florence,” when the town used to supply the most important Florentine families and workshops in Tuscany with highly valuable artistic ceramic creations. Among the masterpieces on display you’ll find the famous Rosso di Montelupo, a Renaissance artwork from 1509.

After the tour, a short walk will lead you to the Museum’s Fornace, an ancient kiln where you will partecipate in a hands-on workshop, guided by master ceramists. The activity is customizable: you can choose between clay modeling or ceramic decoration on plates or cups.

The experience ends with a snack, featuring typical Tuscan product, which will be served inside the museum.

Cost: 65€ for adults, 50€ for children under 12.
Minimum participation: 4 people.
Location: the Museum of Ceramics in Montelupo Fiorentino, two minutes away from the train station, in the heart of the historic town center.
