The Medici Trail is a 78.3 km long itinerary of medium difficulty that can be completed in 4 or more days. It starts at the Medici Park in Prato and it ends in Fucecchio, after crossing the lands where the Medici family used to live, hunt, and enjoy shaping those wonderful landscapes that even Leonardo Da Vinci depicted in his paintings.
Walking through this itinerary, you will encounter four Medici Villas, now recognized as UNESCO World Heritage sites, as well as historic villages, ridges and valleys, natural parks, archaeological sites, and numerous historical and artistic testimonies.
The Medici Trail is also a strategic link between the Wool and Silk Route and the Via Francigena, allowing walkers to connect the Po Valley and Northern Europe with the spirituality of the Eternal City.
